Panacure Power Pack

Freederic the Great was loosing weight. Not a lot but when the sun shone in the evening you could see a few ribs and his hind quarters could be rounder. Worming, extra food ( 30 pounds a day) and he was holding his own but not improving. His 2 pasture mates were round and ready to burst. Yes they were bullying him but he was eating his share and getting extra by himself.
Last Monday I started the 5 day Power pack treatment. I knew the Veterinarian's would use the power pack treatment prior to starting omaprazoline (Ulcer guard) treatment for ulcers. They don't know how it works but it improved the results for gastric ulcer. Frederic's treatment ended on Saturday with his last dose of Panacure. Yesterday he had noticeably gained weight with a nice round Hind quarters and I could not see his ribs. And when going to lunge him prior to riding, the "Gentle Giant" could not contain himself. He stood up and then took off when I was trying to clip on the lunge line. He ran and ran for around 5 minutes.

Fun Dressage Schooling Show

With the headlines saying "Snowmagaedon blankets the Mid-Atlantic", we awoke to a bright sunny day in the 60's. How lucky we are to live in Paradise. By 9 am our vests were off. At the county of Maui Equestrian facility aka "Tom Morrow Arena" we had great footing and the arena to ourselves. Jessica and Jackie worked hard to set up the poles and letters the evening before. Jessica's horse Mele stood herself behind C. I am sure she thought she was the judge and we should be trotting around the arena. "Not enough suppleness, watch accuracy, ...good halt! wheres the carrots?"

Everyone rode a test. Then had 10 minutes of direction and followed up with their test again. From intro level with 3 riders new to dressage to Training and First level. We were done by noon and thank goodness as it was quite hot. As my side kick Hunny (white Shepard/Akita) and I drove home I realised I have been judging horse shows since I was 17 years old. Isn't it interesting how your life is cast.
Hey, that judge behind "C" - is she sticking her tongue out at me?

The FEI recently ruled they did not have enough evidence against Patrick Kittel as he rode his horse in Roll Kur in a World Cup warm up. I could barely watch a minute of this. You tube:
